Pic of me

My name is Jason Martin, I'm a 3D Artist. I've been working professionally in the Gaming and Digital Media Industries since 2007. I started my career as an intern at Icarus Studios, now MFV.com. I've had the opportunity to work on PC and mobile games including Fallen Earth and Dexter: The Game, earlier in my career, and more recently, Heroclix Online, TabApp and TabApp Elite.

I've always had a passion for digital media, 3D and Game Art in particular. I attended NC A&T SU in Greensboro, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Graphics Communication Systems and Technology. During my undergrad, my desire to work as a 3D Artist in Gaming was realized. About a year after graduating, I went back to school, enrolling at Piedmont Community College for the Digital Effects and Animation Technology program, in hopes of gaining more experience with the disciplines related to Game Development. During my last semester there, I was granted the internship position at Icarus.

In my career, I've gained considerable experience with software packages including: 3DS Max, The Adobe Creative Suite, Zbursh and Unity. Much of my recent work has involved using skills outside of the realm of game design. I've worked on a number of 3D store environments for Mock.com, and quite a bit with sculpting for 3D prints. I've even done some video editing, here and there. In the Spring of 2013, I took an opportunity to teach an Introduction to 3D Modeling course as an adjunct instructor at Greensboro Technical Community College in High Point.

To me, one of the greatest things about working in industries related to Game Development and Digital Media is having a chance to work collaboratively with so many people with such vastly different backgrounds. Being able to lend my own skill set to a project involving the skills of so many others, to create something interactive, entertaining, and educational, is what keeps my passion for the industry alive.
